Track a Team Member's Progression


At a glance

Tracking a team member's Leadership Progression shows you where they stand on the store's internal development and promotion track. You can see their current stage, the milestones they have completed, the milestones still ahead, and any notes attached to their progression history. Use this workflow during one-on-ones, performance reviews, and promotion conversations.

Before you start

  1. You need a role with permission to view Leadership Progression.
  2. The team member must have a profile in OneClick.
  3. The store's Leadership Progression track must be configured.
  4. Estimated time: under two minutes for a view; longer if you are updating milestones.

Steps

  1. Select Team from the left navigation menu and open the team member's profile.
  2. If you need to update a milestone, see Update a Progression Milestone. Updating is a separate workflow.
  3. You should now have a clear picture of the team member's current stage, what they have completed, and what is next. Capture any decisions or next steps in your one-on-one notes outside OneClick if your store tracks coaching notes separately.

Common gotchas

The team member has no Leadership Progression data.

Three likely causes. First, the team member has not been started on the progression track yet. Second, the store's progression track is not configured. Third, your role does not have permission to view progression data and the tab is hidden.

The milestones I see do not match what I expect.

Progression tracks can be configured differently per store or per organization. Check with whoever owns your store's progression setup to confirm the track you are viewing is the right one.

A team member completed a milestone but the system does not show it.

Milestones are recorded manually, not inferred from other OneClick activity. If a milestone is complete and the record does not reflect it, the update has not been made. See Update a Progression Milestone.

Multiple stores show the same team member with different progression stages.

I want to see progression for my whole team at once, not one team member at a time.

Still stuck

If the Leadership Progression tab does not appear, progression data does not match what you expect, or you cannot update a milestone, submit a support ticket with your store number, the team member's name, the stage or milestone in question, and a screenshot of the progression view.
